Dice RollsRule
24.11.2021
Rolling dice is a core part of any table-top RPG: it brings uncertainty to the outcome of actions, and makes the world reactive and unpredictable rather than railroaded or arbitrary.
The centerpiece of the dice system is the twenty-sided die, the d20. It's used for attack rolls and skill checks, the most common of rolls, and is one of the game's famous symbols.
Die Terminology
These rules use the shorthand for "X-sided die", namely, "dX". A four-sided die is a d4, and a twenty-sided one a d20.
The standard dice array consists of one each of d4, d6, d8, d12 and d20. All players should have one set, and certain dice collectors out there might have slightly more.
