> Deep gnomes are the pragmatic and grumpy cousins of the gnome race. The Caverealm, where they live, is full of dangers, which is why their attitude is so dark. They endure these difficulties because it also holds loads of treasures. Their favourite ore is ruby.

> Hidden but Homey. Svirfneblin protect their enclaves with labyrinthine tunnels, traps, and armed guards. Inside, however, it is well decorated and lighted, as deep gnomes strive to make the place comfortable.

> Community. They are very open and community-oriented, meaning their houses don't have doors or window coverings. The rooms are sparsely furnished, and beds are hammocks strung up against the walls.

Age: You live up to 350 years.

Racial Traits

When you choose this subrace, you gain the following traits:

• Ability Improvement. Your CON and WIS modifiers increase by 0.5.
• Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 ft.
• Stonetinker. You know stoneworker's tools and mining apparati.
• Darkvision. You have darkvision to 60 ft. You can discern colors in darkness.
• Languages. You can speak Gnomish.

When you reach 25th level, you gain this additional trait:

• Epic Racial: You may cast Leomund's tiny hut once between rests, and have resistance to bludgeoning damage.
