The cadets in Cuprien were a youth organization focused on sports and generally closely connected to the public domain as a voluntary school activity.

Structure and Membership

The federation was an "association of associations" in Cuprien law, i.e. an association whose membership was composed exclusively of cadet corps (legal entities). It had a board of volunteers who managed the national association, notably the links to the state's youth sports administration which was an important source of financing for the federation and some corps.

The member corps were:

• The seven individual corps of the Baovuldian federation
• The Brizluk corps
• The Northern Sea Cadet Federation (of five Netachian corps)
• From 409 onwards, the Forgotten Islands Young Sportsfriends Club

A very important, national event was the annual Cadet Festival, a 2-3 day sport competition between all cadets. It had its origins in the Baovuldian cadet games, an earlier competition format.

History

Cadets were largely former groups of officer/soldier training for children which had emerged on Bao-Mou and Netache under the Grand Empire and even before under the Northern Fleet, respectively. These developed into youth sports groups. The northeastern Baovuldians were fastest in this, ending up forming seven relatively similar corps which shared culture through common events and ended up forming a federation together, focused on the annual cadet games (a sports competition).

On the occasion of the first nationally organised cadet games, held in 388 OW, a national federation was founded.

The Cuprien Cadets were replaced with the National Youth Sports League, a State-wide organisation aiming to bind the nation closer together. The result was a strong weakening of the cadet movement more broadly, and the creation of the Cadet Festival Association that same year to continue the closed tradition of the festivals.
