The Northern Fleet was an autonomous member state of the Union of Cuprien and the State of Humanity. It was a stratocracy and presented itself as a military force rather than a civilian state.

Structure

The Northern Fleet was based in Netache, in Fleetport. It was governed by the Admiralty, a council of all six admirals of the Northen Fleet; it oversaw two branches of commands, the operational and administrative (i.e. civilian government) divisions. The state leader was formally called the Secretary of the Chamber of the Admiralty.

History

After the Grand Empire, the old Northern Fleet had all but disappeared, and it failed to regain control over its former core territory on northeastern Bao-Mou. However, there remained some forces and officers, especially on Netache and in the former bases in the Forgotten Islands, and they gained some political power during the establishment of the Union.

The Admiralty was founded by Ger Norke in 353, the date counted as the beginning of the restored Fleet (though in Fleet history, the breach in continuity is not recognized at all; it insisted to be the same state as the one "founded" in 105 OW).
