The bikini was an invention invention of the Cuprien Daphne Nonneniz and the Silurite elf Ella Illiren. It was a two-piece swimwear for women, innovating greatly from older swimsuits both in its fashion and its use of materials.

The item was initially more of a bombshell fashion statement, used by the Hotel Waverose in central Bao-Mou to advertise itself. As the bikini was judged free to produce without a license, and the clothing corporation Preneta brought out its first collection in 253, it rapidly became a relatively mainstream accessory, especially on Litchy, though it would take two decades to achieve a 50% share of women's actual swimwear in the human average.
