Fey, also called fae, were a large and varied group of races originally native to the outer planes Feywild, Arborea and Beastlands. They gave birth to a number of other fey as well as non-fey species that thereafter spread over most of Ochebana. The most renowned fey traits were cunning, agility, stealth, survival, magic, night-vision, truesight and trickery.
The most famous fey race outside of their native lands were the elves, although the most common one were faelings.
Characteristics
The greatest hallmark of fey-kind were their pointy ears. While some other races, such as hobgoblins, also had pointy ears, there were no exceptions among fey - they all had them. There were no direct physical traits tied to those ears, although good auditory capabilities and an affinity for magic were sometimes attributed to them. Additionally, fey were relatively slender humanoids. Some had more strength than their physique might suggest, and all were very nimble and light of foot. Their facial features were often rather thin, with sharp edges and stark eyes. Fey eyesight in fact was one of the best. Beyond a very clear vision, many also had darkvision, allowing them to see shades of grey even in pitch darkness. A few, more special races even had truesight, which allowed them to peer somewhat into the Weave and notably look through any illusions.
Reproduction
There was a pattern among fey races that they had male and female specimens, but this was definitely not a consistent case. There were many races that featured neuters, bisexuals, three or more reproducing genders, or even a single gender overall (requiring the race to breed with members of other races). However, all fey reproduced sexually. While some did so traditionally through genital contact, others had more special ways, such as organic containers of genes, various ways of sharing the genes through body locations such as hands and foreheads, and even aerosol fertilization. In the end, however, all fertilized fey grew their fetuses in a womb and gave birth to an already somewhat developed baby.
